Thank you for touring our web page. The Plano Police Association is dedicated to the
professionalism of law enforcement in Plano and around the state. The PPA actively participates in the legislative
process within the City of Plano, Collin County, and the State of Texas. The PPA also maintains lines of communication with
other law enforcement agencies in an effort to ensure that the Plano Police Department is
on the cutting edge of law enforcement and the recruitment of new officers. Currently the association has over 270 members. Members come from various areas within the
department which include, patrol services, criminal investigations division, community
services, emergency communications, detention, and several other areas as well.
The PPA also acts as an advocate for its members
and the members of the Plano Police Department as a whole.
The PPA is active in promoting fair and equitable pay for the type of professional
law enforcement desired by the citizens and guests of Plano. As Plano continues to grow, the police department
is faced with an unprecedented need for new officers.
This, however, is a trend statewide which makes it important for Plano to have the
most marketable salary and benefits package in the area, if not the state.
The PPA is also a non-profit,
charitable organization that actively supports local benevolent programs such as
Hopes Door. Over the past two years the
association has contributed over fifty-six thousand dollars to a variety of charitable and
benevolent programs. The PPA also sponsors
the Christmas Cops program, and along with the help of Citizens Police Academy Alumni
distributes food and gifts to families in need during the holiday season. This program is continuing to expand yearly and we
appreciate your contributions.
In closing, I think our mission
statement best describes the purpose of the Plano Police Association.
Promotion
of occupational independence, economic well-being, charitable contributions, and social
fellowship
